It’s a Birmingham Bach Choir concert … but with a difference, as long-standing choir conductor Paul Spicer and Andy Lumsden present the works of a classic British comedy duo.
Under the guise of Michael Flanders (Paul Spicer) and Donald Swann (Andrew Lumsden) – aka Flanders & Swann – Picking Up The Dropped Hat is an evening of comic monologues and songs, including In The Bath, Misalliance, The Slow Train, The Gnu, Hippopotamus Song and The Warthog Song.
The event is a fund-raising performance for the choir’s 2014 commission, a brand new work to commemorate the start of The Great War – Unfinished Remembering – which will be premiered at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
