Towersey Festival have announced a number of additional acts, who’ll be joining the previously announced line-up of Billy Bragg, The Wonder Stuff, Kate Rusby, Midge Ure and more (see Towersey Festival announces ‘chart-topping’ 2016 line-up).
Singer-songwriter Grace Petrie returns after her huge Towersey success last year. This time she’ll be bringing a few friends with her, including singer-songwriter (and sometime Daniel Kitson cohort) Gavin Osborn, and the prolific MJ Hibbett.
Guaranteed to raise a smile is the banjolele maverick, dandy and purveyor perfectly pronounced (and hilarious) ‘chap-hop’ ditties, Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer.
Also, look out for young Scottish five-piece Fara, who play a mixture of self-penned and traditional Orkney tunes; award-winning ‘neo-trad’ quintet from the Scottish Highlands, The Elephant Sessions; and FleetwoodCave, featuring Marion Fleetwood and Gregg Cave and TradArrr.
Plus The Swing Commanders, Europe’s leading western swing act, who perform and exciting mix of 1940s classics, boogie-woogie, western swing and 50’s jump jazz, rising East Mids singer-songwriter Josh Wheatley, and guitar duo Batkin-Hill.
