Birmingham Comedy Festival and Fred Theatre are joining forces to produce a stage version of two episodes from the classic radio comedy series in early 2017. This follows sell-out performances at 2014’s comedy festival.
Both episodes, showing together as an evening’s entertainment, will be presented as though being recorded for broadcast (ie. script in hand).
Performers are now sought to join and complete the team.
The festival and Fred seek versatile actors who are experienced in comedy, and able to adopt a number of characters with minimal time between each.
£10 per hour performance and rehearsals; Monday 6 February to Sunday 12 February 2017.
Character breakdown:
Harry Secombe – to take on the various roles performed by Harry in the original recordings; predominently the character of Seagoon.
Spike Milligan – to take on the various roles performed by Spike in the original recordings.
Deadline for applications: No later than 25 November 2016.
Auditions: Central Birmingham, Monday 28 November 2016.
Applications: All applications should be via Casting Call Pro (or also see ArtsJobs).
