Comedy fans quick to grab free tickets

The Big Glee Giveaway

#BigGleeGiveaway proves a huge success

Since launching on Monday 5 June 2017, an estimated 300-plus quick-off-the-mark punters have grabbed free tickets as part of the second #BigGleeGiveaway.

Every week, until 10 July 2017, famed comedy venue The Glee Club is ‘hiding’ free comedy tickets across the UK. The exact locations are revealed at 10am Monday morning via The Glee’s social media channels using the hashtag #BigGleeGiveaway, and on the website: www.glee.co.uk

So far, tickets have found their way to such places as Forbidden Planet, clothing store Projekt21, York’s Bakery, and Harborne’s The Plough (Birmingham); Truck, ice cream parlour G&D, Boswells, and Society Café (Oxford); Spillers Records, Pizza Pronto, Rules of Play, Tiny Rebel, and Fabulous Welshcakes (Cardiff); The Treat Kitchen, The Lost City Adventure Golf, Café Sobar, Rough Trade, and Pieminister (Nottingham).

The Glee Club’s Tom Hunt said: “Both ourselves and the businesses who’ve taken tickets have been bowled over by the response. Within minutes of us revealing the locations, shops and bars have had people running in asking for tickets!

“If you’ve been unsuccessful in your search for tickets, there are still a few weeks to go yet, so there’s still a good chance you’ll be able to grab some free laughs … if you’re quick.”

Eagle-eyed comedy fans need to just check The Glee’s social media feeds for news of the locations, and then head to the named shops, bars, and sites, and ask for their #BigGleeGiveaway tickets.

Over the six week run, a total of 1,000 tickets will be handed out, enabling free entry to some top shows over the summer.
