New acts for Mostly Jazz Festival 2022

Friday 8 to Sunday 10 July 2022
Moseley Park and Pool, Birmingham

Barney Artist & Horse Meat Disco
join The Specials, The Fatback Band and more.

Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival’s 2022 line-up just got bigger with the news that three new acts have been added to Saturday’s line-up (9 July 2022).

Having previously visited Mostly in 2021 with Mr. Jukes, London rapper Barney Artist returns for a much anticipated solo set. Fusing ’90s era boom bap hip-hop with jazz, and influences such as The Roots and Ghostpoet, Barney has opened for Common and also collaborated with Tom Misch, Loyle Carner and Birmingham’s own Kofi Stone.

DJ collective Horse Meat Disco are an international phenomena. Born out of London’s ’00s club scene, they’ve since gone global with their “queer party for all” sets smashing it across Europe and America.

Born in Ndola, Zambia and raised in the UK, August Charles has been showing his vocal abilities since the age of 12. Having featured in several 2021 playlists, big things are expected of the deep/neo soul singer.

Barney Artist, Horse Meat Disco and August Charles join a Saturday bill headlined by The Fatback Band, Craig Charles, and Oh My God! It’s The Church.

Other previously announced artists appearing across the July weekend include The Specials, Nightmares On Wax, DJ Yoda, Children of Zeus (Friday 8 July 2022); and Earth Wind and Fire Experience (featuring Al McKay), Cameo, The Wailers, and Lady Blackbird (Sunday 10 July 2022).

One of the UK’s best-kept festival secrets, Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival takes place in the intimate surrounds of the picturesque Moseley Park and Pool, Birmingham. For tickets and more information, see: mostlyjazz.co.uk
